Alameda Landing

Goal: To redevelop a portion of a former Naval Air Station (NAS Alameda) into a vibrant, active retail town center.

Challenges: Demolition and removal of former warehouse structures and site improvements. Creation of all new public infrastructure including utilities and traffic improvements. Extensive bay mud and fill over entire site requiring innovative deep, lightweight concrete floating pads for all buildings.

Result: 300,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant space contained in twelve separate buildings creating a town center streetscape. Three public plazas including sculpture, pedestrian amenities and abundant landscaping.
