City Sports Club

Goal: To redevelop a vacant former multi-level junior department store building at the Stonestown Galleria, an 860,000 square foot premier regional mall in San Francisco anchored by Macys and Nordstrom, into a vibrant, productive facility.

Challenges: Complete demolition of all interior improvements. Installation of new seismic upgrades necessary for a 50 year old multi-story structure. New, complete utility infrastructure and vertical transportation. Raising and reconstruction of building roof structure for added clear height necessary for basketball. Sublevel excavation and shoring for installation of interior swimming pool. Complete new interior and exterior improvements and upgrades. Approval process through the City of San Francisco.

Result: A new, state of the art 50,000 square foot fitness center on three levels incorporating a full array of exercise equipment, swimming pool, spa, sauna, full basketball court, aerobics, pilates, training, fitness counseling and child care.
